LIBERTY Dental Plan Advances Innovative Approach to Oral Health By Empowering Physicians to Provide Fluoride Varnish
IRVINE, Calif., March 22, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- LIBERTY Dental Plan (LIBERTY) continues to innovate and be a champion for whole health by partnering with the Center for Oral Health and medical providers to create a program that will help increase the number of children receiving fluoride varnish – a critical treatment that helps prevent further dental issues later in life.
This Sacramento based program begins with a Continuing Medical Education (CME) training of physicians on how to apply the fluoride varnish. The first, of what is expected to be many more, training takes place today, March 22, 2016, at the Hyatt Regency Sacramento from 6 p.m. – 10 p.m.
This is believed to be the first time a Geographic Managed Care (GMC) Dental Plan has fully funded this type of program to address children's lack of oral health checkups – and treatment. LIBERTY Dental Plan has partnered with the Center for Oral Health and SynerMed, a leading Managed Service Organization, for this first training. Ultimately, the training schedule will be further developed with the goal of positively impacting 1,000 – 2,000 children in the first year.
