Lilly Statement on Hurricane Sandy Relief Efforts

INDIANAPOLIS, Nov. 1, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- In the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, the Lilly Foundation is donating $200,000 to the American Red Cross in support of relief efforts in affected areas of the United States. Additionally, the foundation is contributing a $1 match for every dollar donated by Lilly employees to the American Red Cross or Salvation Army.

Following is a statement from Robert L. Smith , president, Lilly Foundation:

"Hurricane Sandy had a devastating effect on millions of people along the east coast of the United States – many of whom are now dealing with loss of home or loss of infrastructure.
