SAN FRANCISCO, May 22, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Limos.com, the world's largest online marketplace for private car service, announced today the appointment of Ann Hoey, a proven leader with extensive operational experience, as its new president and CEO, and e-commerce innovator Dawn Lepore to its board of directors.

The combined efforts of Hoey and Lepore will represent a significant shift in leadership for Limos.com, a San Francisco-based company with 49 employees, including a new executive team to lead operations in finance, product design and innovation, customer care and engineering. Current Limos.com president and CEO T.J. Clark has decided to pursue a new venture.
Hoey's appointment comes at a pivotal time for Limos.com, as it jumpstarts its Series B fundraising efforts this month. Prior to joining Limos.com as its chief revenue officer in 2011, Hoey served as the general manager at Mediaplex, the technology division of ValueClick, where she built an advanced advertising platform that managed over $1.5B in annual ad spend for more than 1,500 advertisers, including eBay, United Airlines, Avis Budget Group and Shutterfly. During her tenure as the GM for Mediaplex, Hoey grew top-line revenue by 45 percent and increased profitability by 90 percent. She also spent five years at Levi Strauss & Co. in various consumer and brand marketing roles.
"In a little more than three years, Limos.com has become the world's largest and most trusted online marketplace for private car service, with direct relationships with operators in more than 62 countries," said Hoey. "Limos.com is at an inflection point, paving the way for widespread consumer adoption of private cars for both business and leisure travelers while transitioning from a startup to being the worldwide leader in ground transportation."
Lepore, the former chairman and CEO of Drugstore.com, will provide Limos.com with unparalleled insight and counsel as it continues to shake up the $19 billion domestic private car industry. A well-known and successful e-commerce veteran named one of Fortune's 50 Most Powerful Women in American Business, Lepore led Drugstore.com from 2004 until its sale to Walgreens in 2011. During her tenure, she led the company to record revenues and earnings. A member of the board of directors at Coupons.com and eBay, Inc., Lepore previously served on the boards of Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., and The New York Times Company. Additionally, she has held numerous leadership positions at The Charles Schwab Company, where she spent 21 years building the firm's highly successful e-commerce business.
"The decision to join Limos.com was an easy one, not only because the private car industry is one of the fastest growing categories in travel, but because I'll have the opportunity to work with an incredibly talented female CEO in Ann Hoey," said Lepore.
Recognized by Forbes as one of America's Most Promising Companies, Limos.com has grown to be a marketplace of more than 41,000 vehicles from licensed private car operators in over 370 destinations worldwide, and has more than 5.1 million registered users. The company has more than doubled bookings and revenues year-over-year and is aggressively growing its presence domestically, as well as in international markets.
