Lloyd E. Rigler-Lawrence E. Deutsch Foundation Continues Support of Recital Series at The Broad Stage

SANTA MONICA, Calif., Jan. 23, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Expanding a tradition of extraordinary generosity and major contributions to the cultural life of Los Angeles, the Lloyd E. Rigler-Lawrence E. Deutsch Foundation announced today a $350,000 unrestricted gift to strengthen the recital series at The Eli & Edythe Broad Stage at the Santa Monica College Performing Arts Center. This gift is in addition to the initial gift of $500,000 in February 2011.

Under Director Dale Franzen , The Broad Stage, an intimate 499-seat state-of-the-art theater and currently in its fifth season, has presented an impressive roster of renowned classical artists and world-class opera singers with the underwriting support from the Foundation. Metropolitan Opera stars Juan Diego Flórez, Karita Mattila , Piotr Beczala , Joyce DiDonato and instrumentalists such as Joshua Bell , Richard Goode , Nadja Solerno-Sonnenberg and Lynn Harrell .

Sunday, March 17^th at 6:00PM, The Broad Stage will feature the superstar soprano Angela Gheorghiu in her west coast recital debut.
