CHICAGO, April 28, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- On Monday, May 11th, local businesses and companies will don their most comfortable clothes as part of "Cozy for the Cure." The program, developed by J Miller Marketing and Komen Chicago, hopes to raise over $50,000 for breast health and breast cancer programs for uninsured and underserved individuals in the Chicagoland Area.
- To participate, companies and businesses can register at: http://komenchicago.org/chicagoland-area-events/cozy-for-the-cure/
- A minimum $5 donation per participant is required.
- Individuals are welcome to register or join any company's team.
President and CEO of J Miller Marketing Jennifer Panzloff developed the concept of Cozy for the Cure with her team after learning that a sorority sister was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, just days after giving birth to twins. "Kathleen has been such an inspiration. It made me realize there is something bigger we all should be doing to create a world without breast cancer. Cozy for the Cure is meant to not only raise funds, but to start a conversation in the public eye. By setting the minimum contribution at just $5, anyone can participate, which we hope will empower the younger generation to feel invested in this fight as well."
Participants are encouraged to send pictures of themselves at work in their casual clothing on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, and include #cozyforthecure.
Susan Tybon, CEO of Komen Chicago, noted, "We are excited to build upon the momentum from the Mother's Day Race for the Cure by continuing the dialogue in offices Monday morning."
The 2015 Mother's Day Race for the Cure will be held on Sunday, May 10th at 8:00 am. Participants can register for the 10K/5K Timed Race, 5K Walk or 1-Mile Fun Walk. To register or volunteer, visit www.komenchicago.org.
