Local Businessman Wins Second Book Award
"Call of the Couch: A Family's Love Affair with Its Business" by Larry Schneiderman wins at the 25th Annual Midwest Book Awards in the Business Category
MINNEAPOLIS, June 29, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- On Wednesday, May 13, 2015 Larry Schneiderman, CEO of Minnesota based Schneiderman's Furniture, was recognized for excellence in writing for the second time this year. This award comes shortly after "Call of the Couch" won a 2015 Axiom Business Book Award.
"The continued success and recognition of 'Call of the Couch' is both humbling and extremely gratifying," said Larry of this award. "My original purpose for writing the book was to honor my mother and father by sharing their against-all-odds business accomplishments. Friends encouraged me to add what I've learned these past 40 years. It's a combination of what I've gained through years in retail and what I learned from others, especially my parents. With the help from a fine editor, the content came together."
Schneiderman's Furniture is one of Minnesota's largest and longest family operated businesses, with operations spanning three generations. Larry has worked for the company his entire life, selling his first piece of furniture at the age of 15.
