Lockton's 2015 Mining Summit to Address Unprecedented Industry Pressures
Insurance and risk management experts will discuss hot topics March 24-25 in St. Louis, Mo.
ST. LOUIS, March 10, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Lockton Companies' Mining Practice will host its fourth annual Mining Summit on March 24-25, 2015 at the Four Seasons Hotel in St. Louis, Mo. The Summit brings together leading experts and forward thinkers in the fields of property and casualty insurance, surety, insurance claims, workers compensation, and risk management to discuss current trends and topics directly affecting firms in the mining, metals, and natural resources industry.
"Those in the mining industry face unprecedented pressures due to a protracted, depressed market cycle for many commodities," said Ryan W. Brown, Mining Practice Leader with Lockton Companies. "These pressures are driving intense scrutiny on operating costs and capital decisions, while creating a 'zero-tolerance' appetite for surprises by all stakeholders. We've designed this year's Mining Summit agenda with these pressures in mind."
The Mining Summit will feature speakers from the National Mining Association, AIG, ACE USA, Berkshire Hathaway Specialty, Munich Re, Behre Dolbear, Travelers, Zurich, SCOR Re, Aspen Insurance, Gallagher Bassett, and many more. Breakout session topics include, among others:
- Changes in workers compensation best practices
- Environmental liability
- Property insurance market update
- Surety
- Contractual liability
- Business interruption
Setting the Summit's tone this year will be keynote speaker, Simon T. Bailey, a leadership advocate whose presentation will equip attendees with tips, tools and techniques on how to unleash potential in the world's greatest asset: people. He is the former leader of the world-renowned Disney Institute and founder of the Brilliance Institute, Inc.
The event will also feature an important economic update by Thomas Holzheu, Chief Economist, Americas, Swiss Re, on Tuesday, March 24, followed by a roundtable on March 25 with prominent leaders who will look at the key issues, concerns and challenges of executive liability:
