Louise Hilsen Joins Government Relations and Public Policy Group at Kelley Drye & Warren - Now In Its 50th Year
WASHINGTON, Nov. 8, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Kelley Drye & Warren LLP is pleased to announce that Louise Hilsen has joined the firm's Washington, D.C. office as a senior advisor in the Government Relations and Public Policy practice group. Ms. Hilsen has more than 25 years of experience in legislative advocacy and strategy with particular experience in food safety, nutrition and wellness, supply chain and environment and emerging issues such as biotechnology and biofuels. With respect to international public policy, Ms. Hilsen is well versed in supply chain and responsible sourcing issues, as well as the non-communicable disease and advertising agendas that impact the food industry.

Prior to joining Kelley Drye, Ms. Hilsen was the Vice President of Government Relations for Nestle USA, where she ensured coordination of Nestle's legislative and regulatory initiatives across U.S. business units. Ms. Hilsen maintained an active portfolio on which she lobbied, with issues ranging from pension and labor issues, to environmental, trade and corporate governance issues. She has a deep understanding of issues that affect U.S. subsidiaries of foreign corporations.
Prior to her role at Nestle, Ms. Hilsen worked for several members of the U.S. House of Representatives. She held a number of senior positions, including communications director, legislative director and chief of staff. In addition to experience on congressional and presidential campaigns, Ms. Hilsen served as Deputy Executive Director of the Bipartisan Commission on Entitlement and Tax Reform, also known as the Kerrey-Danforth Commission.
