Lt. Governor Bill Bolling Featured Speaker at the Greater Reston Chamber ACE Awards Luncheon
RESTON, Va., July 13 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce (GRCC) will host its annual business Awards for Chamber Excellence (ACE) luncheon at the Hyatt Regency Reston in Reston, VA on July 22, 2010. This year, besides the annual membership and community awards and the official swearing in of the new board of directors, the GRCC will raise the level of discussion about jobs to include a presentation by Lt. Governor Bill Bolling on specifically what is planned and promoted by the Commonwealth of Virginia for jobs creation.
Lt. Governor Bolling will be the luncheon's featured speaker. As Virginia's Chief Jobs Creation Officer, he recognizes the importance of strategies that support the growth and development of new jobs creation throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia. This includes attracting companies that choose to relocate to Virginia, promoting small businesses and encourage the development of entrepreneurial companies that will help shape the future of Virginia, and promoting state and local job incentives and initiatives.
The topic of jobs creation is paramount to all businesses and constituents throughout the Commonwealth.
"Governor McDonnell and I have been clear that the most important issue currently facing Virginia is the need to get our economy moving again and create jobs. Our Jobs and Opportunity Agenda was designed to do just that, and based on the early results, I am confident that we are headed in the right direction. However, we have a lot of work left to do to make certain that we bring down our unemployment rate, get Virginians back to work and turn our budget shortfalls into surpluses again. We are determined to accomplish these goals, and we will not let anything stand in our way of restoring economic prosperity for Virginia's families," stated Lt. Governor Bolling. His message is timely and important to those doing business in the Commonwealth and shouldn't be missed.
Entrepreneurs and small businesses stimulate job creation, develop crucial innovations in both products and services, and promote the diversification of the economic base. Nowhere is this better understood or demonstrated than through the GRCC INC.spire business incubator program that will also receive recognition through a resolution passed by the 2010 General Assembly for the program's ten year accomplishments in job creation and local economic growth and contributions.
Registration is now open and more information is available online at www.RestonChamber.org. Individuals may also register through the GRCC office by calling 703.707.9045. Attendees are encouraged to register early due to limited seating and the expected interest in the lieutenant Governor's message.
Since 1982, the Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce's goal has been to draw together local member companies, with legislative focus and initiatives and education to promote and enhance the vibrancy of the Greater Reston community. Besides traditional chamber membership services the GRCC acts as the Regional Visitors & Conference Center and home to INC.spire, the only chamber based business incubator in the Washington Metropolitan Area.
