Holland Company, a leading distributor of thermoplastic resin, today announced the formation of a Business Development organization to coordinate sales and sourcing strategies in specific target end markets. John Zessin, who heads the M. Holland Automotive Group, has been tapped to serve as Director of the new Business Development Department, reporting to Marc Fern, Commercial Vice President.
"During our recent strategic planning process, it became clear that we need to have a more focused and aligned approach in specific markets," said Fern. "The addition of the Business Development Department will allow for greater coordination across our domestic and international sales regions and will also provide our suppliers with a more focused approach within their desired markets."
Added Zessin, "In addition to automotive, we plan to add market-focused teams targeting the flexible packaging, color and compounding, and medical markets initially. Teams will be comprised of Market Managers, Strategic Account Managers and Applications Development Engineers, all collaborating with our strategic suppliers and field sales force to deliver unprecedented service to these key markets."
Zessin, who founded Polymer Z Corporation in 2003, joined M. Holland in September 2015 when M. Holland acquired Polymer Z to form the M. Holland Automotive Group. Zessin has spent his entire career in the automotive industry, serving in executive management positions with Monsanto, Bayer and Dow before founding Polymer Z.
