Mac-Gray Wins Outstanding Multifamily Partner Award at 2010 Broadband Properties Summit
Award acknowledges Mac-Gray's connected-laundry technology for improving multi-housing common area laundry rooms, helping create net operating income (NOI) value for multifamily property owners
WALTHAM, Mass., May 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Mac-Gray Corporation (NYSE: TUC), the nation's premier provider of laundry facilities management services to multi-unit housing facilities, today announced it received the Outstanding Multifamily Partner Award presented at the Broadband Properties Annual Summit on Tuesday, April 27, 2010 in Dallas, TX.
Recipients of the Outstanding Multifamily Partner Awards are selected by a vote among multifamily property owners, developers and managers. The award recognizes and honors an outstanding industry partner. Mac-Gray and the other candidates for the award had to provide documented evidence that they added value to a property owner's business and/or communities.
"We are honored to receive the Outstanding Multifamily Partner Award from Broadband Properties," said Phil Bogucki, Vice President, National Accounts, at Mac-Gray. "This award recognizes Mac-Gray's long-standing commitment to providing our clients with advanced technologies proven to enhance both resident satisfaction and the profitability of the laundry facilities. I am also pleased that our Clean & Green Vision and the commitment to sustainable laundry practices was embraced by our partners at Post Properties and proved to be beneficial for them."
In presenting the award, Steve Sadler, Vice President, Strategic Business Services, Post Properties said, "When accounting for the cost of owning and maintaining our own machines, we estimated an overall NOI improvement of 10% to 20% on our laundry room operations. In fact, we exceeded our own ROI calculations on over 90% of our communities. Mac-Gray's high efficiency equipment and technology solutions have helped us maximize the use of our laundry rooms and at the same time enabled us to achieve real energy savings as part of our 'Post EcoActive' initiative which promotes our sustainable property operations. With their technologies, Mac-Gray goes well beyond any traditional laundry provider in understanding and meeting the needs of the property and its residents."
Among the innovative services offered by Mac-Gray that were acknowledged at the presentation of the award, were LaundryView®, LaundryLinx™, and the company's client extranet. LaundryView® is a web-based system that lets residents check the availability of washers and dryers from their desktop, laptop or handheld computer. It also allows residents to receive a text message when their cycle has completed. LaundryLinx™ provides property administrators with a direct link to Mac-Gray's service dispatch via the Internet for faster response time. The client extranet provides convenient and transparent access to revenue, commission payment and service information via the Internet through a secure system that is available 24/7 and updated daily.
Bob Tuttle, Mac-Gray's Executive Vice President, Technology & Information Services said, "We appreciate this award and we are proud of it, as an affirmation of Mac-Gray's strategy to leverage technology to deliver a clearly differentiated, superior service. We also expect to introduce two new product platforms later this year. They have been in development for a couple of years and build on our connected-laundry approach, giving our clients, and their residents who use our facilities, exciting new features and benefits."
