Maggiano's Introduces National 'On the House' Pasta Day to Thank Guests for Supporting "Buy One, Take One, Give One" in October Every Guest Who Dines Monday, Oct. 22 Will Take Home a Classic Pasta, Compliments of the Chef
DALLAS, Oct. 18, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Maggiano's Little Italy® is thanking guests for supporting this month's "Buy One, Take One, Give One" offer by expanding the brand's generous Classic Pasta menu platform Monday, Oct. 22 and inviting all guests to take home a made-from-scratch, authentic Italian-American Classic Pasta on the house. On a day the brand is declaring National 'On the House' Pasta Day, anyone who dines at a participating Maggiano's restaurant – no matter what they order – can choose from a selection of handmade pastas and baked specialties, like Four Cheese Ravioli, Mom's Lasagna and Taylor Street Baked Ziti, to take home and enjoy the next day for lunch or dinner.
"Maggiano's is proud to have given away six million Classic Pastas on the house to date, and to thank our guests, we are sending everyone who visits Maggiano's Monday, Oct. 22 home with a free Classic Pasta of their choice," said Steve Provost, president of Maggiano's Little Italy. "Classic Pastas translate into two special occasions – one we provide in-restaurant and the other guests create at home – and next Monday all our guests will be introduced to this generous menu offering."
Maggiano's unveiled the "Buy One, Take One, Give One" offer earlier this month, an effort designed to raise one million meals for Feeding America, the nation's largest domestic hunger-relief charity. During the month of October, for every guest who orders a Classic Pasta, and in turn, 'takes' another one home, the brand will 'give' a donation to help support the 1 in 6 Americans facing hunger.
"National 'On the House' Pasta Day, coupled with our 'Buy One, Take One, Give One' offer supporting Feeding America, is a 'win-win' for both our guests and an important cause," added Provost. "Both events perfectly reflect our Italian-American heritage and give guests a unique reason to come to Maggiano's this October to experience the generosity that is our brand."
Maggiano's first introduced Classic Pastas in August 2009, sending guests who order a Classic Pasta home with a second dish on the house, compliments of the chef. The offering strongly resonated with guests looking for affordable dining options in a difficult economy, so the brand made the platform a permanent menu fixture in August 2010. Maggiano's is the first restaurant of any scale to create an offer of this magnitude.
Together with more than 200 member food banks serving all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico, Feeding America provides food and grocery products to 37 million Americans each year. Feeding America's food banks secure and distribute more than three billion pounds of donated food through a network of approximately 61,000 food assistance agencies, such as food pantries, soup kitchens, emergency shelters and after-school programs. One dollar donated to Feeding America helps provide eight meals to those facing hunger in the United States.
