Similarly, for retailers, personalization also ranks high in terms of its importance – 94% of senior-level executives believe personalization is critical or important to reaching customers according to a study from PWC's Digital Services group; and two-thirds of all marketers in an Experian study reported that connecting data and channels in real time ranked as their #1 priority.

The Internet Retailer "2017 Leading Vendors to the Top 1000" reveals the leading e-commerce vendors that are driving sales for the largest and fastest-growing online retailers. This research guide comprehensively ranks the Top Vendors in each of 30 e-commerce technology and service categories – from affiliate marketing to website testing/optimization – by their clients among the Top 1000 e-retailers in North America.
The Leading Vendors to the Top 1000 ranks the e-commerce technology and service vendors that the Top 1000 e-retailers rely on the most. To determine each vendor's ranking, Internet Retailer compiled a list of clients each vendor serves among the retailers ranked in the 2016 and 2015 Top 500 and Second 500 guides (collectively the Top 1000) and totaled the number of clients served across the 30 technology and service categories they track. Internet Retailer identifies merchants' technology providers by confirming them directly with retailers, through a third-party data source or via the vendor.
Top 500/Second 500 Guides: Researchers contacted hundreds of retailers over a five-month period.
