
Main Street Connect Raises $7 Million and Appoints Zohar Yardeni as CEO
ARMONK, N.Y., Oct. 31, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Main Street Connect, the nation's leading community news company, announced today the appointment of Zohar Yardeni as Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Yardeni will succeed Founder and Publisher Carll Tucker, who will become Chairman of the company. Coinciding with the appointment of Mr. Yardeni as new CEO, Main Street Connect announced it has closed a second round of funding of more than $7 million, after a first round of funding in the same amount.
A tech industry veteran who successfully launched two start-ups, Mr. Yardeni comes to Main Street Connect from Thomson Reuters, where as Global Head of Product Capabilities he led a team working to reinvent a multi-billion dollar platform of financial applications and websites. Mr. Yardeni previously founded radiusIM, a location-based instant messaging service, and CallStreet, an earnings call transcription service, which was subsequently sold to FactSet Research Systems. He received an MBA from Columbia Business School in 2001 and a BA from Cornell University in 1995.
