Malibu® and Maroon 5 Head to New York City for Custom Marooned on Malibu Island Concert Malibu Puts the Power into Fans' Hands with Crowd-Sourced Custom Maroon 5 Concert

NEW YORK, Sept. 23, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- With nominations submitted and fans eagerly awaiting the announcement of which city would get a chance at a custom "Marooned on Malibu Island" concert, Malibu® and Maroon 5 are pleased to announce today that New York City fans have received the coveted bid. The cocktail and music collaboration encouraged fans all summer long to nominate their respective cities nationwide to help determine the location of a Maroon 5 concert, to take place following their current tour.

The invitation-only custom concert will be held on Saturday, November 16 and will feature a set from the band as well as signature Malibu cocktails for guests.

The Marooned on Malibu Island promotion was a first for the brand, giving Malibu consumers a chance to nominate their city for Maroon 5 to perform by creating their own virtual Malibu Island on www.MalibuIsland.com.

In addition to raising awareness via its social media properties, Malibu also partnered with the mobile music app, Shazam where fans could be directed to a mobile version of the program. At on- and off-premise retail locations nationwide, Malibu incorporated Snap Tags into its displays and merchandise, allowing consumers to scan and be directed to the app for interactive announcements, reminders and exclusive video content.

MALIBU® BLACK Sunday Morning
1 part MALIBU BLACK
1/2 fresh orange
1/2 fresh lemon
1/5 parts simple syrup

Muddle chunks of orange and lemon in a rocks glass. Add MALIBU BLACK and simple syrup. Fill up with crushed ice.

MALIBU® RED Loves Somebody
1 part MALIBU RED
2 parts orange juice
1 splash of grenadine
1 orange wedge/zest

1 part MALIBU
1/3 part ABSOLUT® Citron
1/3 part lime juice
1/2 part pomegranate juice
