Managing Partner Kevin Colosimo To Speak At 5th Law Of Shale Plays Conference
PITTSBURGH, Aug. 29, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Kevin Colosimo, Managing Partner of Burleson's Pittsburgh location, will speak on recent trends in leasing at the 5th Law of Shale Plays Conference held September 4 and 5 in Pittsburgh.
Colosimo will join a panel discussion titled This Year's Hot Issues in Leasing. The session will address the most contentious and difficult issues confronting lessors, lessees, and landmen as the exploration and production of shale plays continues to boom.
"The rapid expansion of the industry has added even more complexity to the detail-driven process of handling title examinations and lease transactions," said Colosimo. "This session will shed light on recent issues influencing this practice area and provide attendees with a better understanding of how to mitigate risks in today's leasing environment."
Colosimo is a seasoned attorney who is experienced in all areas of oil and gas litigation, energy law, and business and contract law. He is counsel to dozens of exploration and production companies operating in the Marcellus and Utica shale plays of the Appalachian Basin.
In addition to his panel presentation, the conference will feature a conversation with attorney and former Mayor of New York City Rudy Giuliani on shale development and energy security. Sessions will also be held on topics related to environmental, regulatory, and litigation issues; shale development and energy independence; and tactics for challenging "sue and settle" restrictions on resource development.
The 5th Law of Shale Plays Conference is being presented by The Center for American and International Law. Burleson is one of the event's sponsors.
