After becoming a Certified Public Accountant, Vagrin was hired by Manganaro in 1983 at their Boston offices. He served as Accounting Manager until he was transferred to Maryland (Manganaro Midatlantic) in 1984 where he served as Controller until 1987. Vagrin was promoted to Vice President of Operations from 1987 to 1988 before he was named President of Manganaro Midatlantic in 1988.
Under his leadership, Manganaro Midatlantic has completed such noted projects as the United States Institute for Peace, Strathmore Hall Arts Center, the Comcast Arena at the University of Maryland in College Park, the Clarice Smith Center for Performing Arts, Ravens Stadium, and the construction of the Frederick Rescue Mission's 6,000 square foot addition.
Additionally, under Vagrin's leadership, Manganaro Midatlantic has taken huge steps to reshape the corporate climate to maximize client satisfaction, project efficiency and, in turn, employee retention with their proven, proprietary One Voice, One Team Management System. This system develops well-informed project managers who are cross-trained in all areas of the project to better supervise, motivate, and guide teams to successful project completions.
"Tom has been an integral part of Manganaro's success. He leads with confidence and determination. His loyalty and hard work is second to none. His ability to be steadfast during economic downturns is greatly appreciated by all involved in management. I hope Tom has enjoyed his tenure here as much as I have and I wish him more success with us in the next 30." - David Manganaro, Chairman, Manganaro North America
