NEW YORK, Feb. 10, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The Ad Council Board Chair, David Christopher, announced today that Margo Georgiadis, President of Google Inc., Americas, has been named a Vice Chair of the organization's Board of Directors, and will assume the role of Board Chair on July 1 of this year.

In her four years of service on the Ad Council Board, Margo has driven countless pro bono partnerships and collaborations between Google, YouTube and the Ad Council. Under her leadership, Google has provided significant support for Ad Council public service campaigns through both the Google Grants program as well as digital and social opportunities on YouTube. Google has also served as a launch partner of the Ad Council's recent "I Am A Witness" anti-bullying campaign, launched in October of 2015. In this role they provide both funding and targeted activations—including dedicating the YouTube homepage masthead to the campaign this past January, generating over a 100 million impressions and two million video views in a single day.

As President, Americas at Google, Margo Georgiadis leads the company's commercial operations in the U.S., Canada, and Latin America. Margo is also the former Chief Operating Officer of Groupon, Executive Vice President of Card Products and Chief Marketing Officer of Discover Financial Services.
