PHOENIX, Aug. 6, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- A new toolkit of more than 30 customizable marketing resources designed specifically for the needs of informational technology (IT) channel companies was unveiled this week by CompTIA, the IT Industry Association.

The marketing toolkit is just one of several new education and training offerings from CompTIA that were offered for the first time here during ChannelCon 2014, the premier partnering and training event for the IT channel.

"Successful marketing begins with a plan and we've compiled all the elements that make up a winning marketing plan," said Kelly Ricker, senior vice president, events and education, CompTIA. "It includes practical, actionable advice that will guide an IT channel company through each stage of building a marketing strategy."

The Marketing Toolkit includes more than 30 tools and templates that can be tailored to a business's marketing objectives. The toolkit includes guides on search engine optimization; identifying competitors; developing unique value propositions; strategies for enabling sales team success; and a sample marketing budget.

Three new channel executive certificate programs also debuted this week at ChannelCon.

The program explains how to use profit-and-loss statements to understand trends, make forecasts and adjust the business to maximize performance.

Selling Cloud Services offers insights into what the "cloud" represents and how channel firms can create a cloud portfolio. It looks at cloud sales models and processes that work, and http://mychannelcon.zerista.com/event/member/120684 examines proven sales process from concept introduction to contract signature.

Participants learn how to understand the environment their customers do business in; how it relates to their security; and strategies on how to educate customers so they understand that security is a business enabler that can help them grow their business.

The marketing toolkit and executive certificate programs are the latest examples of the independent, vendor-neutral educational resources, market research, program and credentials CompTIA provides to the IT channel.
