Absolutely 100 percent of all funds raised from the tour will support the construction of "smart homes" for deserving wounded warriors and their families. These specially designed homes are custom-built to provide the severely wounded veterans quality of life and independence that otherwise would not be possible.
"Marriott is proud to join as a sponsor of the Wounded Warriors Family Support High Five Tour," said David Rodriguez, executive vice president & chief human resources officer of Marriott International. "This partnership is another extension of our work with veteran organizations, and helps support our commitment to recruiting veterans returning from active duty that are interested in hospitality careers." The tour stopped at the Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina on May 24, and will visit Marriott Headquarters on July 8, 2014.
"The High Five Tour 2014 is about showing our support to military families across the nation," said Colonel John Folsom, USMCR (Ret.), founder and president of Wounded Warriors Family Support. "Our mission is also to positively affect the lives of wounded veterans who have made tremendous sacrifices in the line of duty. We're excited to bring the High Five Tour 2014 to Marriott properties."
"True North Hotel Group became involved with the Wounded Warriors Family Support High Five Tour last year when several Marriott's franchise partners provided rooms for the tour drivers," says Lewis H. Wiens, chairman & CEO, True North Hotel Group. "Motivated by this positive experience and Marriott's ability to provide lodging at nearly every stop along the Tour, the collaboration just felt like a win-win."
