Marvell Technology Group Ltd. Announces Appointment of Chris Koopmans as EVP of Marketing and Sales

SANTA CLARA, Calif., May 31, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Marvell Technology Group Ltd. (NASDAQ: MRVL), a global leader in integrated silicon solutions, today announced the appointment of Chris Koopmans as Executive Vice President of Marketing and Sales, effective June 1, 2016.  In his new role, Mr. Koopmans will lead Marvell's global Marketing and Sales organizations. He will be responsible for defining market opportunities where Marvell's core competencies in System on Chip Design can be most effectively applied. In addition, he will be responsible for enhancing the technical expertise of the Marvell Sales force and executing on market opportunities ultimately leading to the Company's next phase of profitable growth.  Chris Koopmans will also be driving a newly created Program Management Office to help empower greater efficiency in the Company's overall product and R&D roadmaps.

Mr. Koopmans joins Marvell from Citrix Systems, Inc., where he was Vice President and General Manager of Service Provider Platforms since 2012.  Prior to Citrix, Mr. Koopmans was a founding team member at Bytemobile, Inc., a leading provider of mobile video and web optimization and traffic management solutions. At Bytemobile, he served in a variety of senior leadership roles and ultimately as Chief Operating Officer until the company was acquired by Citrix in 2012. 

Mr. Koopmans earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering with highest honors from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign in 1998.  He was also working towards his Ph.D. on a National Science Foundation fellowship when he left to join Bytemobile in 2000.
