Brad Lerner, M.D., director of the Summit Ambulatory Surgical Centers and chief of urology at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, and Stacy Zemencik, RN, director of nursing, were cited for working tirelessly to promote quality outcomes, patient satisfaction, financial profitability and team cohesion at their centers.

Brad Lerner, M.D., has practiced urology for over 20 years and has served as the clinical director of ASCs for 15 years. In this position for Summit Ambulatory Surgical Centers, he serves as the center's administrative leadership along with Stacy Zemencik, RN, director of nursing. One of the mid-Atlantic's leading urologists, Dr. Lerner was one of the first fertility specialists in Maryland and is regarded as one of the best known and most experienced urologic microsurgeons in the state. He also serves as urologic consultant to the Baltimore Ravens.
Stacy Zemencik, RN, works in close, day-to-day partnership with Dr. Lerner and is responsible for long-term strategic planning, implementation, development and evaluation of ambulatory surgical services. She has served as DON for the center for the past three years, prior to which she held several medical surgical nursing positions over a period of 10 years.
The Summit Ambulatory Surgical Centers opened its first site in 1992 at Union Memorial Hospital. Annually, 36,000 cases are performed at the 14 locations throughout Maryland. Procedures are utilized by Chesapeake Urology's 52 physicians, including urologists, radiation oncologists and auropathologist.
