Limited-Series Trofeo made its China debut at Chengdu Motor Show 2018

Built around a V8 engine, this model is capable of sprinting in style from 0-100 km/h in a mere 3.9 seconds while reaching a top speed of 304 km/h. Only 88 units of the launch edition are available for China, making the Trofeo the top choice for luxury performance connoisseurs with the desire to travel fast and in style.

The Trofeo's power unit, co-designed with and hand-built by Ferrari, is one of the most powerful engines fitted in a Maserati in its 104-year history. Delivering an astonishing 590 hp at 6,250 rpm and 734 Nm peak torque at 2,500 – 5,000 rpm, the power output is second only to its race-bred sibling, the legendary MC12 champion GT racer featuring an aspirated 630hp V12. The MC12 sits alongside the Trofeo on stage at the Chengdu Motor Show as a symbol of inspiration and a reminder of the power and performance that's available in the Levante Trofeo.

The Trofeo is an exemplar of Maserati's unmistakable design, eye-catching from the first glimpse with a new level of sportiness. The Full Matrix LED headlights, a standard on the new SUV, flank a front grille with double vertical bars in black piano finish. The lower honeycomb mesh fascia paired with carbon fibre elements such as the side bezel blades and splitter help improve airflow distribution and add functionality to the astonishingly modern exterior.

The side air intakes in the lower fascia feature a new, more aggressive design defined by two aerodynamic wings that give a sense of stability, visually "pushing" the weight of the car's nose towards the 22-inch forged aluminum "Orione" wheels – the largest ever fitted on a Maserati. Performance painted brake calipers provide powerful accents to boost the vehicle's already commanding presence.

The wider, muscular rear end also provides a more imposing look with a sharper carbon fibre horizontal element and body-color lower extractor that embrace the dark-finished, oval quad exhaust tips. A dedicated "Saetta" Trofeo logo adorns the iconic C-pillar of the GT-style SUV to cap off a fully reimagined exterior design.
