Massive Eagle Ford Shale Expo Moves To San Antonio
The 2014 South Texas Oilfield Expo, the Largest Oil Show Serving the Eagle Ford Shale, Moves to the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, July 9-10, 2014
LONGVIEW, Texas, Oct. 29, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The 2014 South Texas Oilfield Expo will be held July 9-10, 2014 at Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, TX. The massive oil and gas show has taken place at The American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, TX since its debut in 2012.
Texas Classic Productions LLC, the organizers of the 2014 South Texas Oilfield Expo, chose the venue and to relocate to San Antonio to allow for the projected growth of the show. Not only is an increase in exhibiting companies expected, but the inbound and outbound logistics of San Antonio can accommodate tens of thousands of oilfield professionals from all over the world. The city's proximity to the Eagle Ford Shale will also allow the oilfield professionals operating there convenient access to the show.
In 2013, the expo featured 508 exhibiting companies across 660 booths and 60,000 square feet of heavy equipment space. The 2014 expo plan will allot space for over 1,000 booths, including indoor heavy equipment. Not only do those numbers represent an exciting number for attendees, but for the city of San Antonio as well.
"Even if each exhibiting company sends a minimum of two booth personnel, in addition to the thousands of attendees we're expecting, that's a substantial bump to an already impressive number of visitors to the city," said Eli Logan, President of Texas Classic Productions LLC. "With hotel rooms, traveling and entertainment expenses, it's likely the economic impact from expo participants will reach well into the tens of millions."
In addition to a new venue in a new city, the 2014 South Texas Oilfield Expo will occupy an earlier timeslot in the year, having moved from September to July.
"In 2013, show-date adjustments were made by a competitor and suddenly, their South Texas show coincided with The South Texas Oilfield Expo. Our exhibitors were less concerned with where blame fell and more concerned with the impact it had on attendance. That's completely understandable," said Amy Double, VP of Marketing with Texas Classic Productions LLC. "We're moving to July to avoid a scheduling conflict and to ensure massive, relevant attendance and boost the success of our exhibitors."
