Maxar (MAXR) Alert: Johnson Fistel Investigates Maxar Technologies Ltd. Following Short Sellers Report; Investors Encouraged to Contact Firm
SAN DIEGO, Aug. 8, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Shareholder Rights Law Firm Johnson Fistel, LLP is investigating potential claims against Maxar Technologies Ltd. (NYSE: MAXR) ("Maxar").
The investigation concerns whether Nielson and certain of its officers or directors have violated federal securities laws.
On August 7, 2018, short-seller Spruce Point Capital tweeted and issued a report giving a "strong sell opinion" on Maxar Technologies, accusing the Company of "brazen intangible asset accounting." The Spruce Point report alleged, in part, that Maxar "has pulled one of the most aggressive accounting schemes Spruce Point has ever seen to inflate Non-IFRS earnings by 79%." Specifically, the report asserted that Maxar had used its acquisition of DigitalGlobe "to inflate [its] intangible assets" and had "amended its post-retirement benefit plan to book one-time gains" in a manner that "was not fully disclosed across its investor communications."
Following the report, Maxar stock fell sharply.
The investigation concerns whether Maxar and certain of its officers and or directors have engaged in securities fraud or other unlawful business practices.
