CHICAGO, June 04, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- McGuffin Creative Group, an advertising and communications agency based in Chicago's West Loop, has chosen Mama's Kitchen as the recipient of its 2013 McGuffin Grant.
Mama's Kitchen (mamaskitchen.org) is a San Diego-based nonprofit that home-delivers free meals to residents of San Diego County who are living with AIDS or cancer, or are physically and/or mentally unable to prepare meals for themselves or their families. The nearly 23-year-old, volunteer-driven organization was chosen among several qualified applicants to receive $25,000 in creative strategies and design solutions from McGuffin, a marketing effort that will help the group raise an additional $1.2 million for its capital campaign.
Mama's Kitchen plans to serve nearly 1,500 people this year with more than 500,000 meals, and is looking to develop new programs and deliver even more meals.
"We consider it a privilege to be able to help an organization with such a meaningful mission," says Chris Sculles, president of McGuffin Creative Group. "We received submissions from lots of great organizations, but when we all read about Mama's Kitchen, we recognized immediately they were a great fit for the grant."
Now in its third year, the McGuffin Grant was created to provide one nonprofit organization every year free access to McGuffin's team of designers, copywriters and strategists. The agency's work is determined by the client's needs and goals, and can include the creation of marketing campaigns or solving specific challenges with a brand, among other things.
McGuffin Creative Group is a 25-member creative agency whose specialties range from branding to advertising, web design to direct marketing. Founded in 2004, some of the firm's clients include BMO Harris Bank, Allstate, Cadence Health and Cars.com.
