MedSpring Immediate Care Opens Two Chicago-Area Centers Arlington Heights and Naperville Now Open, Lincoln Park/Lakeview Opening February

CHICAGO, Dec. 21, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- MedSpring Immediate Care, a leading provider of quality immediate health care, today announced the opening of two new centers in the Chicago area. Located in Arlington Heights at 902 W. Dundee Road and in Naperville at 1190 S. Naper Boulevard, these two centers mark MedSpring's entry into the Chicago area. Outside of Chicago, MedSpring serves patients at 11 other centers across Austin and Houston and earns an average patient rating of 4.9 out of 5 stars.

MedSpring also announced the planned February 2013 opening of a third Chicago-area center in the Lincoln Park/Lakeview area at 2868 N. Broadway (just north of the N. Clark and W. Diversey intersection).

All MedSpring centers have doctors on-site from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week, including most holidays. While both Chicago-area centers will be closed on Christmas Day 2012, they will be open during regular business hours every other day during the holiday season, including New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.

"We are delighted to be opening our doors in the Chicago area, providing a convenient, comfortable and cost-effective alternative to the emergency room," said Jon Belsher, M.D., MedSpring's Chief Medical Officer. "In addition to quality medical care, patients can expect a relaxing atmosphere with unique amenities including complimentary snacks and beverages, in-room televisions and activities for children."

With digital x-ray and lab facilities on-site, MedSpring physicians treat a wide range of illnesses and injuries, from cuts, sprains and broken bones to coughs, allergies and infections. Walk-ins are welcome, and scheduled appointments are also available. MedSpring surveys every patient and posts all comments and reviews online, unless the patient prefers to keep their feedback private. Prospective patients can see ratings and comments from thousands of reviews at www.medspring.com.

For non-life threatening issues, MedSpring provides a cost-effective and convenient alternative to the emergency room. The average MedSpring visit lasts less than an hour compared to a national average of four hours for an emergency room visit. Additionally, while co-pays vary by insurance provider, patients typically pay $35 to $50 at MedSpring, compared to $100 to $200 or more at the ER. For those without insurance or with a high deductible, the savings can be even more dramatic with a typical MedSpring visit costing under $200 compared to well over $1,000 for a comparable ER visit.
