Together Richard Smiedt and Karim Rashid have designed and sold consumer products by the millions. The success of their most recent endeavor, bobble (the iconic self-filtering water bottle) has inspired them to explore a new passion project, in bump. Their experience has taught them that nothing disrupts more powerfully than design.

The pair set out to solve a problem. That problem is the propensity of mobile devices to run out of battery on a daily basis, often at the least convenient time. As they progressed they were joined by Phil King of Method fame. Together they saw the problem clearly.
