Meeting National Ballet of China in New York This Summer -- NBC will Present the Peony Pavilion and the Red Detachment of Women at Lincoln Center Festival

BEIJING, July 3, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- In this July 2015, the National Ballet of China will bring its best artists to Lincoln Center Festival. Presenting Chinese ballets The Peony Pavilion and The Red Detachment of Women, the company will reveal its efforts of 50 years to combine western art form and national cultural heritage to the US audiences, with their exceptional technique, exquisite expression and inflamed passion.

Lincoln Center Festival is well known around the world for its fine artistic taste and high standard. After years of performances and cultural exchanges overseas, the National Ballet of China has received international acclaims with its impressive artistic level. Therefore an invitation from Lincoln Center Festival is a natural result for its years of effort.

For the performance at the festival, the company is bringing a team of dancers and musicians with 170 members, plus the collaboration of a local Chinese chorus of 40 singers. From July 8th to 10th, the company will present three performances of The Peony Pavilion at David H. Koch Theater, and on July 11th and 12th two performances of The Red Detachment of Women. Two different works are best examples of Chinese ballet's artistic achievements in different eras, and it is the first time for the company to present these two ballets in full-length to the US audiences.

After its performance at the Festival, the company will continue its tour to Filene Center of Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts, the Performing Arts Center of Purchase College, Stage University of New York, and Saratoga Performing Arts Center with The Peony Pavilion plus An Evening of High Lights.
