The announcement was made by Will Pearson, President and Co-Founder of mental_floss.
The appointment of Ms. Deutch as EVP, Publisher comes amid a period of exceptional growth for mental_floss. The brand has seen an increase in digital engagement, with traffic more than doubling since 2015, and an average of 20 million monthly unique website visitors in 2016. The brand is also experiencing impressive sales growth, with advertising revenue projected to be up more than 100% from 2015, a large portion of which is being driven by video. On the video front, the mental_floss YouTube channel has grown to 1.3 million subscribers, and Facebook video views have reached more than 20 million monthly views. In the past year, mental_floss also made a series of editorial hires to advance the brand's digital presence, and the company will be investing more heavily in an expanded video team in late 2016 and early 2017.
Ms. Deutch will oversee sales strategy, advertising partnerships, and creative campaign activities for mental_floss, reporting to Mr. Pearson.

Her career in media spans 20 years, and includes roles as Associate Publisher for Fast Company, Elle Décor, and FHM. She has direct experience advancing consumer and business-to-business brands; during her tenure at Fast Company, the brand was named to the Ad Age A-List, and won a spot on the Adweek Hot List for three years in a row.
