Mercy College Board of Trustees Chairman Brown Honored with the Foreign Policy Association's Corporate Social Responsibility Award

DOBBS FERRY, N.Y., June 22, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Mercy College today announced that Gary W. Brown, Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Mercy, was honored by the Foreign Policy Association, which presented him with its Corporate Social Responsibility Award at their 2011 Corporate Dinner earlier this month. Brown—who is president and CEO of CIBC World Markets Corp.—was recognized for the diverse and impactful community relations activities in which CIBC has been involved under his leadership.

Chairman Brown also spoke with pride about his support of, and service to, Mercy's board, as well as the school's mission to provide a high quality and affordable education to its diverse student population. Gary Brown is President and Chief Executive Officer of CIBC World Markets Corp., CIBC's U.S. broker-dealer, and Head of the U.S. Region. As Chair of the U.S. Management Committee, he is responsible for all business and governance functions under a U.S. regional management structure. In April 2008, in addition to his regional duties, Mr. Brown was named Managing Director and Head of Risk World Markets with global responsibility for strategic risk matters within the Wholesale Banking Division. Mr. Brown is a member of the Wholesale Banking Management Committee and the Investment and Credit Committees of CIBC.
