Metabolic Studio Delivers Barbecue Lunch Thank You to Firefighters Who Fought the Calabasas Fire
Gives $200,000 in grants to benefit local county firefighters and their families
LOS ANGELES, June 17, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The Metabolic Studio today announced that it provided barbecue lunch yesterday to the first local county responders in recognition of their brave and tireless efforts to protect the community during the Calabasas fire that raged in early June. It also will provide $200,000 in grant funding to two organizations benefiting local county firefighters and their families.
"Living in Southern California surrounded by forest means trusting the fire department can manage the ever increasing threat of warmer climate and diminishing water. This gift is a token of our appreciation to the men and women who are dedicated to keeping us safe," stated Lauren Bon, artist and director of Metabolic Studio.
A grant for $100,000 will be given to the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, an organization devoted to providing resources, programs and equipment that assist firefighters and paramedics in protecting life, property and the environment.
The Widows, Orphans, and Disabled Fireman's Fund will also receive $100,000 to assist their efforts in helping the families of LAFD firefighters facing a serious crisis, such as being injured or killed in the line of duty.
Lunch was delivered to the following twelve locations as a gesture of appreciation for those who battled the fire: Station 68 in Parkway Calabasas; Station 65 in Agoura; Station 67 in Piuma; Station 69 in Topanga; Station 70 in Malibu Canyon; Station 71 in Malibu; Station 72 in Decker Canyon; Station 88 in Malibu; Station 89 in Agoura; Station 125 in Calabasas; Station 144 in Agoura/Westlake; Camp 8 at Rambla Pacifico in Malibu.
