Metro Special Police to Hold Appointment Ceremony for International Bodyguards at Duke Mansion in Charlotte, North Carolina
This unique appointment ceremony will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 19, 2012.
CHARLOTTE, N.C., Jan. 17, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The ceremony marks the final selection for thirteen individuals who trained together over a twelve month period in preparation for the launch of Metro's International Protection Unit. Under the direction of Chief Operations Officer Karl de la Guerra, the special unit of Metro Special Police is qualified to work with other protective service organizations for dignitary and diplomatic security. The protocols and procedures are internationally recognized and in use by agencies such as the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Secret Service, and the Department of Justice.
Sir George Popper, former Director of Protocol for the country of Hungary and President of the International Bodyguard & Security Services Association (IBSSA), will be the keynote speaker for the Metro Special Police appointment.
"I have been very impressed with the commitment and dedication these agents have shown in their skills for protective services," says Lynn Hoosier, President and CEO of Metro Special Police and Security, a private police and security corporation based in Charlotte.
When asked if the squad was put together for the upcoming DNC, de la Guerra responds, "We are a team composed of protection professionals located throughout the United States and overseas. We are together for the long term. To think we are focused on just one project would be incorrect." De la Guerra is also a Regional Representative for IBSSA.
Program graduate Mitch Roth, a retired Chief of Police from New Jersey and career law enforcement officer, joins the team transitioning a career path after retirement. Another graduate, Alexis Bell, came to the team with a background in international fraud investigation. Bell is a past president of the Charlotte Area Chapter of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
