Metro Washington, DC Synagogue Offers Ticket-Free High Holiday Services & Streams Services on the Internet
CHEVY CHASE, Md., Sept. 15, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Temple Shalom, a Reform Jewish congregation near the DC line in Montgomery County, Maryland invites members of the greater Jewish community, whether synagogue members or not, to attend select High Holy Day services for 5772, the Jewish new year.
No admission tickets required for the following Temple Shalom services on Rosh Hashanah (Jewish New Year) and Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement):
- Rosh Hashanah Early Evening – informal family-oriented service, Wednesday September 28, 2011, 6:30 p.m.
- Rosh Hashanah Afternoon Family Service, Thursday September 29, 2011, 2:45 p.m. (followed at 4:00 p.m. by the traditional walk to water ceremony, called Tashlich – a symbolic casting away of both sins and the old year.)
- Rosh Hashanah (Second Day) Morning – an adult-oriented service, Friday September 30, 2011, 10 a.m.
- Yom Kippur Afternoon Family Service, Saturday October 8, 2011, 2:45 p.m.
- Yom Kippur Healing Service, Saturday October 8, 2011, 4:00 p.m.
- Yom Kippur Afternoon Memorial and Concluding Services (Yizkor and Ne'ilah), Saturday October 8, 2011, 4:15 - 7 p.m.)
