MetroCorp Bancshares, Inc. Announces Successful Repurchase of Remaining TARP Preferred Shares
HOUSTON, Aug. 9, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- MetroCorp Bancshares, Inc. (NASDAQ: MCBI) announced August 9, 2012 that the Company successfully repurchased the remaining 1,260 outstanding shares of the Fixed Rate Cumulative Perpetual Preferred Stock, Series A ("TARP Shares"). The Company participated at the auction by U.S. Treasury on June 28th and acquired 43,740 shares out of the total 45,000 shares.
"With all of the TARP Shares repurchased, this would put a final closure on TARP," said George M. Lee, Executive Vice Chairman, President and CEO.
