Metrocrest Chamber of Commerce Announces New Leadership; Planned Relocation to New Office Space
DALLAS, July 20, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The Metrocrest Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors is pleased to announce its new President, Erin Carney.
Carney is a chamber veteran, previously serving the Metrocrest Chamber in the capacity of Programs Director since Fall 2013. Prior to arriving at the Metrocrest Chamber, she served the Lewisville Chamber of Commerce as both its Events & Communications Director and its Vice President of Program Development.
"She brings her chamber program, event planning and membership management experience to our leadership role," said Linda Rutherford, Southwest Airlines Vice President of Communication & Outreach and Chair of the Metrocrest Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. "The selection committee was impressed with Carney's thoughtful 90-day plan for her new role and is confident that she is the right leader for our chamber to help accomplish our ambitious strategic plan over the next several years."
The board's decision to promote Carney was unanimous and completed after a rigorous review of several qualified candidates interested in the leadership position. She takes the helm effective immediately and will work with current staff and the board to back-fill her position.
"I am honored and excited to be the next President for the Metrocrest Chamber," said Carney. "Opportunities to work in such proud and business-friendly communities under the direction of a strong Board are few and far between. I look forward to continuing to work with our outstanding members, partner cities, committees, and volunteers."
The board of directors unanimously selected Carney as the chamber's new leader and believes her energy and talent will continue the great momentum underway to serve members and promote our Addison, Carrollton, and Farmers Branch communities.
Separately, the chamber board enacted a new ten-year lease to relocate the chamber's offices to a new office suite in the MidPort Tech Center office park in Carrollton, just north of the Addison Airport. The space offers affordable rates, an easy to access location with ample parking, and is currently being renovated to fit the chamber's business needs. Staff and board expect the move to the new location (from its current offices in the Village on the Parkway in Addison) in September this year.
The chamber's Board of Directors represent several area companies and organizations, including Baylor Medical Center at Carrollton, Southwest Airlines, Yoozy, Edward Jones, FASTSIGNS of Carrollton, Oncor, Crown Plaza Addison, TNT Promotions, Frost Bank, Mutual of Omaha Bank, Mosaic in Dallas, Waste Management, Town of Addison, City of Carrollton, City of Farmers Branch, Brookhaven College, and the Carrollton-Farmers Branch Independent School District.
The mission of the Metrocrest Chamber of Commerce is to create economic prosperity for its members by providing programs, resources and support that assist and benefit business, government and citizens resulting in a vibrant place to live and work. The Metrocrest Chamber offers numerous networking opportunities throughout the year that provide its members the opportunity to engage prospective customers and promote awareness of their organization to the communities of Addison, Carrollton and Farmers Branch and the surrounding areas.
