NEW YORK, Sept. 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The American Fertility Association (The AFA) and California Cryobank, announced today a free, educational event about pregnancy and family- building options for lesbians in Miami.
The Gay Women's Gathering will take place on Thursday, September 26th, from 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM at the LGBT Visitor Center Miami Beach, located at 1130 Washington Ave., 1st fl. N., Miami Beach, FL 33139.
Critical information like deciding between a sperm donor you know and one you don't, getting pregnant at home or in a doctor's office and understanding your legal rights will be discussed by experts in a relaxed, conversational format.
"This is the fourth in our national series of informational gatherings, specific to the needs of hopeful lesbian moms. As the only inclusive, national fertility association committed to serving the LGBT community, we're grateful to California Cryobank, whose generous sponsorship of our work makes this event possible," said Ken Mosesian, Executive Director of The AFA. "We've assembled a top-rate, knowledgeable team of presenters, known for their commitment to this population. They include Elizabeth F. Schwartz, Esq. and Maria Bustillo, M.D., of South Florida Institute of Reproductive Medicine."
"Finding a sperm donor, selecting an insemination procedure, and protecting both parents' legal rights can all have significant, long-term financial, medical and emotional impact on a lesbian family," stated faculty member Scott Brown, Director of Client Experience & Communications at California Cryobank. Brown further stated, "California Cryobank is proud to be part of this incredibly important evening of family building education and support."
The evening is focused on the lesbian community, but all are welcome to attend. Refreshments will be served and educational gift bags given to all participants.
The evening is free, but reservations are preferred. Please call Corey Whelan at 718-853.1411 or email.
