Barr has been an expert witness in several key lawsuits pertaining to the unintended acceleration of Toyota vehicles. Mr. Barr's expertise expands to all issues of embedded software safety and security.

Prior to founding Barr Group, Barr served as editor-in-chief of Embedded Systems Programming magazine. He holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering and has lectured in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Maryland, from which he also earned an MBA.
