Michigan French-American Chamber of Commerce Names Faurecia 'Company of the Year'
Michigan FACC recognizes Faurecia for its outstanding achievements and contributions to French-American business relations
AUBURN HILLS, Mich., May 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Tier one auto supplier Faurecia (http://www.Faurecia.com) has received top honors from the French-American Chamber of Commerce, Michigan Chapter (FACC), being named "Company of the Year" for its role in the advancement of French-American business relations. Faurecia has previously been honored by the FACC Michigan and Atlanta chapters.
The award was presented during the FACC's annual gala on April 30 at the Bloomfield Hills Country Club in Bloomfield Hills, Mich. The gala celebrated the Belle Epoque, an Era of Progress and Optimism, and benefited Doctors Without Borders.
As a non-profit, non-political organization, the FACC is dedicated to the development of commercial relations between French and American businesses. Each year, the Michigan Chapter names one France-based and one America-based business, "Company of the Year." Faurecia, headquartered in Nanterre, France, won the award for its significant contribution to French-U.S. trade and commerce. BorgWarner Inc., the America-based company headquartered in Auburn Hills, Mich., was honored for its role in creating a more diverse business community.
With its North American headquarters in Auburn Hills, Faurecia has more than 1200 employees in five manufacturing facilities and three technical centers located throughout Michigan.
"It is an honor to be recognized for our commitment to French-American relations, which are so important to international business," said Mike Heneka, President of Faurecia North America. "The active involvement and leadership roles that Faurecia commits to the FACC are reflective of the importance we feel the organization has in helping to continuously improve relations between French and American businesses."
Faurecia's ongoing active involvement within the FACC Michigan Chapter also contributed to its selection as this year's award recipient. Current Faurecia representatives serving in leadership positions with the FACC Michigan Chapter include Vincent Leroy, chief financial officer of Faurecia North America, and Cedric Ballarin, a sales director for Faurecia North America's Automotive Seating division.
"The leadership and involvement Faurecia has shown in our organization has greatly contributed to the chapter's overall success, helping us to achieve our mission and support our members," said Robert A. Hudson, president of the Michigan Chapter of the FACC. "We are pleased to honor Faurecia for its accomplishments and look forward to continued collaboration with the company."
