Michigan's Best and Brightest in Wellness™ Announced

Event to Honor Winners Slated for October 3, 2013
WARREN, Mich., Sept. 12, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Celebrating organizations that are making their workplaces, their employees and the community a healthier place to live and work is the purpose of the annual Michigan's Best and Brightest in Wellness™ program series. Launched last year, the Best and Brightest in Wellness™ awards symposium is the premier program that honors companies and organizations that recognize and celebrate quality and excellence in worksite health promotion.
The winning companies will be honored at a breakfast celebration and symposium on October 3, 2013 at the VisTaTech Conference Center in Livonia. The Best and Brightest in Wellness™ winners were evaluated by using the WellCompanies assessment, created and administered by Wellco, the nation's leading wellness systems firm.
"Having a healthy and happy workforce leads to a healthy company bottom line. This year's winning companies represent high standards and an exceptional commitment to healthy employees, healthy families and a healthy community," said Jennifer Kluge, Michigan Business and Professional Association/Michigan Food and Beverage Association President and CEO. The MBPA and MFBA are the presenting organizations for the Best and Brightest in Wellness™ program.
The event starts at 7:30 a.m. with registration, continental breakfast, exhibit galleries, health screenings and networking. The interactive morning will also include a Wake-up Laughter Yoga Session led by Melinda Curtis and Laura Lerman, professional wellness coach. The interactive learning sessions will include a Best and Brightest in Wellness™ Winners Panel, Youth Instant Recess™ break, Nutrition For All and Networkingout: Run This Town™. The keynote address will be presented by Dr. Joel Kahn. The awards will be presented by leading Health Reporter Lila Lazarus.
Michigan's Best and Brightest in Wellness™ Symposium and Awards Gala is presented by Michigan Business and Professional Association, Wellco, CORP! magazine and the Michigan Food and Beverage Association. The event is being sponsored by St. John Providence Health System, McGraw Wentworth, Blue Cross Blue Shield of MI, VisTaTech Center, Health Management Systems of America, Walgreens and Michigan Wellness Council.
