The innovative system offers a series of client benefits, from reduced lead times, inventory, and in some instances taxable assets leading to increased profit margins
"We listened to our customers and recognized a need throughout the industry for a more efficient way of repairing and replacing valve parts," said Aaron Florek, Millennium's National Sales and Marketing Manager. "With this program, customers are assured consistent, accurate results that save them time, money, and downtime."
The Virtual Valve and Parts program addresses valve repair and replacement in three phases; data collection, storing specifications in state-of-the-art digital files, and recreating replacement parts quickly with substantial savings.
Millennium Power Services scans all existing valve parts utilizing a hi-resolution 3D scanner that captures measurements within .001 inch. The scan identifies material composition and analyzes trace elements with the highest attainable degree of accuracy. MPS-VP2 Quality control consists of a final scan to ensure dimensional accuracy for all parts manufactured.
The valve dimensions, material specifications, and hardness are stored in a digital library and readily available for recall through cataloged identification numbers. Specifications can be digitally transferred into CAD drawings and uploaded to Millennium Power Services' CNC machines for manufacturing.
The process allows Millennium Power Services to manufacture replacement valves and parts accurately and quickly, in most cases within seven days, avoiding costly downtime and processing delays.
The collection and storage service is provided to Millennium Power Services' clients at no cost. By utilizing the system MPS is typically able to offer manufacturing services at a substantial discount from OEM pricing.
