Millionaire First Grade Teacher Featured on CNN
PETERBOROUGH, N.H., Nov. 8, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Staff Development for Educators (SDE) presenter Deanna Jump was recently paid a visit by a reporter and camera crew from CNN. The 17-year elementary school teacher from Macon, Georgia recently became a millionaire by selling her lesson ideas on the popular website, TeachersPayTeachers.com.
CNN reported that over a three-year span, Deanna has posted over 60 lessons, has sold over 161,000 of them at about nine dollars each, and has become the site's number-one seller.
"SDE is thrilled for Deanna and proud to have her represent us at professional development events," said an enthusiastic Terra Tarango, president of SDE. "At our National PD events in Las Vegas last July, her sessions had an impressive draw."
Jump's Web success inspired CNN to travel to Georgia where she currently teaches first grade at Central Fellowship Christian Academy. Her story aired on September 27th on a CNN segment titled Erin Burnett Out Front. Watch the three-minute video.
SDE has announced that Jump will present at its next round of national professional development events for educators, scheduled to take place in July, 2013, as well as at several state and regional events between now and then.
