Mirage doesn't use tricks to dampen Fiesta
Mitsubishi Mirage offers more utility than Ford Fiesta
COUNTRYSIDE, Ill., Feb. 28, 2014 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Subcompact cars can no longer be labeled as boring or uninspired. Automakers have answered the demands of their customers and have been delivering affordable and exciting subcompact cars for a number of years now. The subcompact car segment has become such a boon to manufacturers that a veritable arms race is underway to see which company can make the best version. Two of the most intriguing entries in the class have been placed head-to-head by Continental Mitsubishi; the 2014 Mitsubishi Mirage and the 2014 Ford Fiesta. A battle between the 2014 Mirage vs. the 2014 Fiesta is a natural competition. Both vehicles use similar design elements to bring the most fuel-economy, cargo space and handling capability as is physically possible.

The 2014 Mitsubishi Mirage in Orland Park, available at Continental Mitsubishi, comes out of the gate swinging at the 2014 Ford Fiesta. The Mitsubishi Mirage is capable of recording Environmental Protection Agency fuel-economy scores of 37 miles per gallon in the city and 44 miles per gallon on the highway. By comparison, the 2014 Fiesta post an admirable score of 27 miles per gallon in the city and 38 mpg on the highway. The Fiesta has chosen to sacrifice fuel-economy for available horsepower. The new Mirage remains an excellent choice for someone who is looking for a reliable vehicle that will be highly maneuverable around the congested streets of Chicago.
When it comes to the design of subcompact cars, the winner will always be the vehicle that uses what it has been given in the most efficient manner possible. The 2014 Mitsubishi Mirage is an excellent example of that philosophy. In terms of maximum cargo room, interior volume and turning radius, the 2014 Mirage has scored markedly better than its Ford Fiesta rival. The Mirage posts 47 cubic-feet of cargo space to the 25.4 cubic-feet offered by the Fiesta; the Mirage comes away with 3.3 more cubic-feet of total interior volume and has a significantly tighter turning circle: 30.2 feet for the Mitsubishi and 34.4 feet for the Ford Fiesta.
