TORONTO, Feb. 26 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- A team of undergraduates from MIT outperformed 43 other teams from universities in North America, Europe and Asia at the seventh annual Rotman International Trading Competition (RITC) at the University of Toronto's Rotman School of Management. The event, held in the Rotman Financial Research and Trading Lab from February 18 to 20, featured simulated trading cases that challenge students by engaging them in competitive trading, risk management, and analytical scenarios.
A team from Babson College finished second with a team from Australia's University of Queensland finishing third. Teams from Texas A&M and the University of Reading finished fourth and fifth respectively.
"We were delighted that the global reach of the competition continues to expand as we added new teams this year from as far away as Rome, Hong Kong, and Thailand," says Kevin Mak, competition director, who is also the manager of the Rotman Financial Research and Trading Lab. "And we look forward to the continued growth and success of the competition next year."
BP Canada Energy Company, Canada's leading natural gas value chain company, sponsored the BP Commodities Trading Case.
