Art of the Walk-Off unveiled throughout historic Chelsea Market; Show runs April 2-15
NEW YORK, April 2, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- MLB Advanced Media, the interactive media and Internet company of Major League Baseball, today unveiled Art of the Walk-Off, a first-time art exhibit celebrating Opening Day through the intersection of iconic imagery and mobile video. Visitors to the collection will have the chance to see 50 iconic images of the walk-off home run, courtesy of Getty Images, and also to use QR code and text messaging technology to instantly watch the art come to life through mobile video highlights on their smartphones.
All 30 Major League Clubs are represented in this collection, including many of the most renowned walk-off home runs from players like Mickey Mantle, Ichiro Suzuki, Bobby Thomson, Derek Jeter, Carlton Fisk and David Ortiz.
Art of the Walk-Off is on display April 2-15 throughout Chelsea Market, located at Ninth Avenue and 16th Street in the epicenter of Manhattan's Chelsea neighborhood. MLBAM has been headquartered at Chelsea Market since the company's inception in 2001, and has grown to become the landmark building's largest tenant.
