BURLINGTON, Vt., Sept. 23, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- divvi, a mobile app dedicated to transforming the consumer recommendation ecosystem, has a lead investor for its first public funding round. The co-founder of Dealer.com has made a $25,000 lead investment in divvi after an initial investment earlier this year. Dealer.com sold for near $1 billion in 2014. The divvi deal is a Regulation D offering, meaning that it is available to accredited investors nationwide.
divvi elegantly captures the power of product recommendations from experts and trained sales associates. The app, available in the iTunes store, provides retailers with a way to bridge in-store retail experiences with online shopping. In doing so, divvi has solved a major pain point for retailers. Consumers often visit a retail store, try on an item, and then go buy it online. divvi allows a retail sales associate to send the customer a link to the product they are interested in buying. When the customer buys the product using divvi, everybody wins. The consumer gets the product they want and the retailer and the sales associate receive credit for the sale.
divvi was created by a team from Burlington, Vermont. Experienced in the outdoor and consumer goods industry, the divvi team understands that influencers play a major role driving sales, but realized they needed to bridge the gap between the influencer's recommendation and the purchase. Just like the local retailer, the influencer can recommend products from their phone with divvi, and customers can easily buy the product from a custom generated digital recommendation via email or text.
The divvi platform has been widely adopted by local Vermont retailers. divvi has also formed a strategic partnership with IPA Connect, a pro-rep company, to get national distribution. divvi has more than 50 million products on the platform, including well-known brands from the apparel, outdoor hardgoods and electronics markets.
With the lead investment by the co-founder of Dealer.com, divvi is gaining momentum toward its funding goal of $400,000 to fund a national rollout of the app. divvi's B Corporation status is pending and the company is a member of 1% For the Planet.
divvi has been recently featured on Crowdfund Insider, Product Hunt and Market Watch.
