Mobile Developers Introduce Occupy Wall Street The Game
NEW YORK, Oct. 25, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Spur of the Moment Games announces their debut title, Clear the Park, is now available for pre-sale. The mobile game allows users to put themselves into the position of a high-profile executive who will do anything to clear out Occupy protesters. The game's tagline: "Being 1% is 100% awesome."

The game synopsis reads: "Those pesky protesters are ruining your perfect view of the park below. Clear them out before the crowd turns your office building into a Ken & Gerri's Ice Cream Shop. Watch your stock increase when you throw office items out the window to deter them or use your earned dividends to negotiate and lure them out. You decide. Either way, those yoga lovin' hippies have it coming to them. How could 99% possibly be right?"
Co-Creators Brad Thorne and Jerry Broughton note, "It is all in good fun, but with an underlying sarcasm. Some of the things we read in the media, seem more like comic books and games than reality, we couldn't resist. We plan to release more titles this way - within a few days of national headlines, we have a title concept. We really respect what people are doing right now to be heard but regardless of your political position, you'll have fun with Clear the Park."
A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the movement in the form of gift cards that can be used to purchase needed items.
The game can be pre-ordered on OccupyMyLife.com and will available for both Android and Apple's iOS.
In addition to pre-ordering, visitors to OccupyMyLife.com will find a fun web-app that allows them to stage their own personal protest using photos.
Users can upload a photo of something they find upsetting and enter a protest slogan. The web-app produces a modified version that overlays an upset Occupy-esque crowd carrying posters featuring their message. The photo can be shared on Facebook or emailed to friends/co-workers.
"We had pretty bad office coffee. I used the web-app to create an Occupy protest and fired it off to Jerry. It was good for a laugh," Thorne recounts.
