Mobile Game 'Clash of Kings' Increases Rankings with TV Advertising
BERLIN, May 15, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Clash of Kings is launching TV campaigns all over the world, including the US, UK, Germany, France, Korea, Japan and other nations. It seems that for now, the new TV ad campaigns have largely worked well. The game is now currently in the top 5 highest grossing apps on the Google Play in the United States.
Clash of Kings is planning many massive creative events in major cities such as New York, London, Tokyo, Paris and Berlin among others, to create wide interactions with the public and attract more new players. "Continuous TV campaigns will maintain a high profile for Clash of Kings and provide an enormous amount of exposure," said the company in a statement during the opening of Clash of Kings TV campaign in Berlin, Germany last week.
The first two commercials have been aired on the main German TVs, including Comedy Central, N24, ProSieben, RTL II, Sport1, DMAX, Pro7 MAXX, SkyAction, SkyCin and SkyCinHit. New charts from App Annie show just how effective the TV commercials are at convincing German adults to download the latest hit game. The game is now currently the top No. 2 free app on the Google Play in Germany. On the Google Play grossing chart, the result is not as high (Clash of Kings is No. 8), but that was clear, given how inflexible that ranking is and that it takes a while until new users convert to paying ones.
What's interesting now is not only to see how the rating will move going forward, but also how sustainable those campaigns are for Clash of Kings. And whether Elex will actually continue to mass-advertise the game this way has yet to be seen, but considering the current success of Clash of Kings, it is not likely to slow down soon - which means that both Clash of Clans and Game of War have their work cut out for them, even if they are in a completely different game style.
