Mobile Giving for Haiti Earthquake Relief Reached $30 Million in Donations

What:

Donations made via mobile phones for Haiti Earthquake Relief have reached $30 million across all the short codes reported the Mobile Giving Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping other non-profits raise funds through mobile.

Charities across the United States and Canada have helped raise $30 million through mobile giving campaigns. Their efforts will help more than 400,000 people affected by the earthquake. MGF will continue to report updated numbers based on data collected at 8:00pm Eastern.

How:

By texting a keyword to a designated short code via a mobile phone, a micro-donation of $5 or $10 can be made to aid the millions of people affected by this tragedy.  100% of your donation goes to the recipient charity, and the donation appears as a charge on your carrier bill, standard rates may apply.
