Mobilizing Medical Images to Help Speed Patient Diagnoses

DALLAS, Nov. 22, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- When there is a medical emergency, the last thing patients need is for their doctor to be on call and unable to access and view their medical images. In the near future, healthcare providers will be able to access and view medical images stored remotely — from a CT to an MRI — and diagnose patients in near real-time from virtually anywhere via their compatible mobile devices.  

AT&T* is teaming with Calgary Scientific Inc. to offer ResolutionMD™ as an addition to the AT&T Medical Imaging and Information Management solution. When this option is made available, physicians will be able to quickly access, view and interact with patient images and reports stored within any healthcare facility, utilizing AT&T Medical Imaging and Information Management and render a clinical diagnosis from virtually anywhere. ResolutionMD, a U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) cleared mobile diagnostic viewer, is a highly-secure, cloud-based application that extends medical image diagnosis from the confines of a desktop to a provider's tablet or smartphone. AT&T plans to make ResolutionMD available to its AT&T Medical Imaging and Information Management customers in the first half of 2012.

• Calgary Scientific Inc. has received clearance from the FDA to market its industry-leading medical imaging application, ResolutionMD Mobile, as a mobile diagnostic application, in the U.S. A web-based version of the application, ResolutionMD Web has previously received this distinctive clearance and is included in this solution.
